About Kirstie
Kirstie brings an empathetic and inquisitive approach to working with individuals, families and care teams. She takes a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, combining this with evidence-based practice to understand each person’s needs and develop meaningful support.
Kirstie has a particular interest in complex trauma, mental health, brain injury and neurodivergence, and brings a diverse background spanning Business, Psychology, Community Services, Positive Behaviour Support and Social Work.
With more than 20 years of experience across community, health and disability services, Kirstie has worked extensively with people living with brain injuries and neurodegenerative conditions, including alcohol-related brain injury, stroke, TIA and post-concussive disorder. Her experience includes holistic case management, advocacy, assessment and service navigation across both hospital and community settings.
She has also spent 10 years delivering community development, health promotion and service advocacy within grassroots communities, alongside lecturing in community services and disability courses. More recently, Kirstie has worked in family violence, specialising in supporting people who use violence and facilitating groups for women who use violence.
